Linda Allen Coop says:

We started first grade together and graduated high school together. Doug was always laughing, kidding around and picking at someone, including me. He loved our Flat Creek School reunions. I wish I could have visited with him one last time. My heart and prayers go out to all of his family.

Aubrie O'Neal says:

My papa Doug was one of the greatest men I've ever knew. He would always be sitting in that old chair of his and was always smiling. His number one saying to me was, "Hi baby." He told me this everytime I came down to visit. He always had this calming nature about him that everyone loved. A smile, a wink, and a laugh that never got old. But on November 28, 2019...God receive an amazing angel. My papa Doug went home to his creator and I know he's up there deer hunting or growing hot peppers, tomatoes, and other plants. And I can see it now...the Lord is standing there watching him grow plants. And he says to my papa Doug, "What in the world are you doing?" My papa Doug responds, "I'm growing me some hot peppers." He loved him some hot peppers. But he loved his family more. I'm gonna miss you so much. And I know you're in a better place now. Just enjoy your mansion Jesus built for you. You have truly earned it. I love you....we all love you papa Doug. See you in Heaven when the Lord calls me home.
